How we got started…

For 30 years I have grown up watching the deHavilland Beaver in action in Southern Ontario, Canada. For years, I searched model shops and magazines looking for the seaplanes I love. My search came up empty-handed.

Then, three years ago, I found a plastic manufacturer that would make the deHavilland Beaver seaplane model. It occurred to me that other individuals might share the same passion and intrigue about this seaplane as I do. So, in July, 2007, I created deHavilland Dreams, Inc, a company that sells deHavilland Beaver (DHC-2) model airplanes.

After several of our customers inquired about additional aviation gear and products, we decided in January of 2008 to expand our company by opening an online aviation shop. Our research proved that there are many sites and products advertised to airline pilots, but few marketed directly towards Bush Pilots and Seaplane Businesses. We plan on changing that!

DeHavilland Dreams has now become a premier outfitter for aviation gear, apparel and accessories specifically made and sold for Seaplane Pilots and Companies. And we haven’t forgotten our roots! We still remain one of the only companies that sell the deHavilland Beaver seaplane model (1/24) scale. We plan to move forward on our seaplane model product line by introducing the Turbine Otter Seaplane (1/24) scale model in 2009, and the Beech 18 on floats in 2010.
